Did You clicked on Your Profile so that the Password Field appears? Because it wouldn't appear before that. It should look like this:

Did you install Zorin OS 17, or did you use the upgrade from 16? If the later, that might explain why is not the default as that wouldn't change the current session settings. Do you still see the option to use Wayland at the login screen? [sc1]
