I am also facing the same problem here after reboot rt3290 wifi card works for few seconds then disconnects and never connects back doesn't even scans for the network. I have a live papermint usb I thied the wifi on papermint works plug and play so I was thinking any one can figure out what are the different settings that works in papermint os. Papermint karnal 6.1 zorin-6.8. Bluetooth also doesn't work but wifi is most important.
Did You checked the ''Additional Drivers'' Tab in Software & Updates if there is a Driver offered? And could You post the Output of sudo lshw -C network please? This command shows us Ifoe about Your Network Stuff. And the Output of rfkill list what show if anything is blocked.
