my wifi stopped working after i installed proton vpn then rebooted, then i found out the driver for rtl8821ce realtek wireless adapter doesn't work, (i cannot disable secure boot, the BIOS is locked, so nothing that requires disabling secure boot would help), i have to use tethering to use wifi on my pc now. (pc model: hp laptop 14-dk1032wm)
From Grub menu > Advanced options, are you able to boot into an earlier kernel than the latest one on this list?
idk if this changes your help, but it stopped working after installing protonvpn and rebooting (ima see if i can boot inter an earlier kernel rn i havent tried yet) (idk how to get to grub menu)
Yes, then probably Proton VPN is the culprit. This is a known issue. Disable VPN and you have wlan back.
I read that it may help to disable ipv6, but I'm not sure.
To see grub menu press repeatedly esc (with UEFI) or left shift key (legacy BIOS) during boot.
