Season's Greetings, Zorin Forum friends!

Popping in to wish everyone a very merry Christmas or winter festivity of their preference!

15 August 2025 marked my one year anniversary of installing Zorin OS 17 as a first time Linux user. Or shall I say, a new GNU/Linux user. The year flew painlessly by, no major computer issues or disruptions to my work flow. My system continues to run on my desktop reliably and as expected.

So even though I have not needed to visit the forum for several months, I thought I would stop by and wish everyone some very happy holidays, and thank you all for the help, replies, and hand holding you gave me!

Hope y'all and your loved ones are doing well!

Now I don't feel bad that I'm still on 17. I have made a virtual disk of 18, booted into it and set up wifi. Haven't had time to do more than that. I'm going to boot into it later today and set it up everything else, see how I feel about migrating to it.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to one and all!!
As we spend this Christmas Day let us ponder the GOOD things in life. Our families and friends. Our accomplishments throughout the year. Our celebrations with friends and families.

Enjoy the New Year to come with them and our Zorin Family as well.

God Bless you one and all.

Have you given thought of upgrading to 18 Lite when it comes out? I remember a few years ago, waiting so long for the Lite version to come out that I installed the gnome version, and I never ended going back to lite.
16 is getting close to EOL, yes?

That hinges on how well it is received. Infact, I haven't even installed Zorin OS 18 at all, due to the bad reception its gotten over serious OS breaking bugs. I'm waiting for those to be fixed, then perhaps I'll upgrade the OS.

I still have my old photo's I made, including this one I made for you, several years ago, around Halloween.

You might remember that one, instead of a lit up pumpkin, I gave you a cute light up cat, while you were waiting for OS 16 Lite. Its funny, cause here we are today, and your still waiting for Lite lol.

Zorin OS 16 was EOL around April of this year. I've been dedicated waiting for OS 18, and furthermore, waiting for the upgrader. The OS breaking bugs have not gained me confidence in the situation.

Having said that, as we were before years ago, I am waiting patiently for the OS 18 upgrader to be ready. And you are waiting patiently for OS 18 Lite. I still have OS 16 Lite on my 2nd NVME drive. So, I'll likely be upgrading 2 operating system on my computer, cause I also run OS 16 Pro.

Hoping 2026 is good to all GNU/Linux and dual-booters everywhere, wherever they may be, whatever systems they are using.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all, and I hope your days are full and your stomachs even more so!

Mines already so full I can't leave my couch. Good thing I've got the week to recover from this food coma
