I've been on Zorin for a while but hopped over to another distro for a few months to try it out, just reinstalled Zorin today. On an Acer Nitro 5 with Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics card. No matter what I do my computer refuses to recognize that I have a second monitor attached via the HDMI port. This wasn't an issue prior to today on either the other distro (OpenSUSE) or Zorin. I have tried installing Xorg/X11 via terminal. I have tried messing around with the NVIDIA driver version in the Software Manager. At my wit's end.
Any other suggestions?
What is the output of
dpkg -l | grep -i nvidia
Can you please try:
sudo apt update && sudo ubuntu-drivers install
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/updates
sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade
Now, this is where things get annoying... It can take Two Full Reboots for Nvidia to shake out of its funk.
Try selecting the Open Source Nouveau driver, then reboot.
Then, select the Nvidia Driver that you prefer to use and reboot.
