How can the "About" app be shown in start menu or elsewhere in Zorin 18 Lite? I can run it with xfce4-about, but it is not shown in the start menu. It should be at category accessoires, but is not shown.
Edit:
I've created a new launcher for "About Xfce" which works, so that "About xfce" ist shown now in start menu, but I'm interested what's wrong with the preinstalled launcher.
After I set the "Other" category - which isn't displayed in the menu (all pre-installed apps in this category are set to hide by default) - to "hide in the menu" and then reactivated it, the original "About Xfce" suddenly appeared when I entered "About" in the search field. Before there was nothing shown.
But it is not shown at category accessoires.
The right-click applications menu on the desktop is now more comprehensive as well. Previously, many items were missing from the bottom section, such as "About Xfce".
For new users, it would be very helpful if there would be an entry in the settings menu "About Xfce" because it is really difficult to find the system information.
If you like, you can add an entry to the settings:
Right-click on the Zorin menu > edit applications, then enter in the search field "about" (in your language) to display the launcher and select "About xfce". At the bottom of the window click on + and select settings, and then settings again. This would create an entry at "Other" in the settings app.
If you like to create an entry at the "System" category at settings, click again on + and select system and then system again.
Save the file (click on the second icon in the topbar)
That's the launcher and the new entry "About xfce" in the settings app:
I'm trying to improve the user-friendliness of the existing tools. I think it's a shame when some of the things that are integrated don't work properly or are difficult to find.
Some user may like the app grid which you can add to the panel (install the plugin and then go to the panel settings and select "add new item" and select Zorin AppGrid Lite. Then move it from the right side oft the panel by right-clicking to a place you like)
I've run into a couple errors when running the live ISO of Lite 18.1 last night. I'm going to do some more digging (when I get time) because there was a few things that brought errors as soon as I opened them, which wasn't expected.
