Smaller Deployment from usb key

For an upcoming machine Acer Spin 311 AMD64 i need a slimmed setup but require the touchscreen functionality.

Question: Is it possible to edit the software list on a zorin core usb key? Means removing the big whoppers like thunderbird, evolution, libreoffice. So it's not required to install all of that first and remove it by hand later.

Where is the software list file on a usb key?

That is not possible.

Hello,
You can try Cubic

I will not say you it work because I didn't try

No, I haven't.

because it work on Ubuntu, so just removing some apps could be possible

Looks good, installed from PPA and it works. Will give it a try, Thanks!

Just tell us if you succeed...

Generally the tool accepts the Zorin ISO, this looks like the stuff i need.

It would be interesting to see whether the selected programs are actually not installed in the first place or are removed later. Some descriptions state that they are removed later. But of course, clicking here is easier than uninstalling each app individually from the app store.

Be careful not to remove all packages of evolution, e.g. not evolution-data-server

This is one of the issues with both Gnome and KDE Plasma. For example, if you attempt to remove Kmail, the whole DE goes down the drain.

evolution is fully integrated in gnome with many services

If You have Zorin Pro, You would have a Minimal Install Option.

Are in the minimal install option of Zorin Pro less apps than in Zorin Core?

I would guess so.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a list of apps included in the minimal installation that you can check.

Yes, there isn't - at least not as far as I know.

Really good to know, i will try that out. The convertible has only a Intel Silverlake CPU that was made for schooling devices. So i thought claws mail and abiword / gnumeric will be the better matchings things for it.

The Cubic session can be reopened, so i can restore stuff that was checked for disable.

Thanks for these ideas.
