Snaps and Ubuntu/Zorin

There are two items missing that are key in relation to "mainstream" distributions and Red Hat's bludgeoning of other distibutions to adopt:

a) systemd

and later

b) Pulse Audio

both written by Herr Poettinger.

This created a major rift within the ranks of many Debian developers, the large majority of which left Debian to form Devuan which uses the traditional SysVinit to boot the Linux kernel, instead of the goo ball that tries to control all of the system in one behemoth, a bit like that other OS.

This is why I am passionate aabout any distribution that is free of systemd, including dragonflyBSD.

that video....... is incredible!

And so true (subtitles that is).

No problem.

Personally, I’m used to a much more customizable distribution (which I could find on CD in a physical store in the late 1990s).

And I like Zorin OS as it is and install it for people who don’t work in IT.

Well due to Rust being fully adopted i saw that xorg will not be used in Gnome 50 there will be a xwayland but at that point wayland will be mostly used
