[Solved]. Can't detect external speakers in Zorin Pro

OK - I had weeks of problems before in an earlier post with videos not playing in Youtube and finally found this was because I'd left the speakers plugged into a different computer (Win 11)!. I've not used my Zorin computer for a while and now can't get it to recognise my USB speakers I had working previously. Any help?

USB speakers? That's a first for me  :exploding_head:

Can you see the speakers if you go into Settings → Sound → Output Device?

Are they shown in Pulse Audio Volume control? You can install it with sudo apt install pavucontrol
After Installation open it and take a Look in the Output Tab and in the Configuration Tab.

Sorry! Not USB - I was thinking of some threads I'd been reading on speaker problems
All I have in Settings/sound/output devices is HDMI/Display Port - built in audio and Line out - built in audio

This is what I have - I hope I'm not being very stupid, but it wouldn't surprise me!

Edit - I turned Digital Stereo to Off and Analogue Stereo Duplex to Analogue Stereo Output and now it's working. Strange, as I've not changed anything for months when it was working!
