Objet : WiFi issue with Intel BE200 (Wi-Fi 7) - Working in Live USB but missing after installation
Hi Zorin Team,
I am reporting a specific driver/firmware issue on a HP ProBook G6 equipped with an Intel BE200 (Wi-Fi 7) card.
The Issue:
- Live USB Mode: The Wi-Fi works perfectly out of the box. The card is detected and connects to networks.
- After Installation: Even when selecting "Install third-party software for graphics and Wi-Fi hardware", the Wi-Fi is completely gone after the first reboot. The system doesn't even see the wireless interface.
Technical Details:
- Hardware: Intel Corporation Device 272b (Wi-Fi 7 BE200).
- OS: Zorin OS 18.0 (64-bit).
- Diagnosis: It seems the installer fails to copy or include the latest
linux-firmwarepackage into the final installation on the SSD, even though it is present in the Live environment.
How I fixed it manually: I had to manually download and install the following debian package from another machine: linux-firmware_20250901.git993ff19b-0ubuntu1.10_all.deb (or later) Then run: sudo update-initramfs -u
Request: Could you please ensure that the latest Intel Wi-Fi 7 firmwares are properly included in the default installation scripts for future updates?
Best regards, Stéphane
