Staying on Zorin OS 17.3 for awhile

Hello,

I got impatient waiting for the Zorin OS 18 upgrade so I decided to do a clean install of Zorin OS 18 and it didn’t go quite as well as I had hoped.

Everything was working perfectly except KDE Connect no longer worked with my iPhone. This however was not a huge deal.

The real problem came when Files (Nautilus) kept crashing and when I would login sometimes my desktop screen wouldn’t load unless I put the computer to sleep for a second.

With Files crashing it eventually became impossible to use Zorin OS 18 so I went back to 17.3 and will upgrade probably after the first point release.

Thank You

I, too, am on Zorin 17.3 Pro for now. Zorin 18 is not all that it's cracked up to be. There are some legitimate bugs that the Zorin Group, I strongly believe, could and should have caught or fixed before releasing Zorin 18. A few have been crystal clear in the sense they were very obvious, but didn't get fixed (for example, the "Z" logo in the taskbar abruptly shrinking after disabling an extension). Am contemplating going back to Debian XFCE and just staying on it for the long-term foreseeable future.

Same here

I started with 17.2, late in the cycle and haven't experienced all the bugs from before, I suspect, 18.2 is going to be smooth and easy, too.
