I have a Surface Pro 7 and for some reason the battery indicator is not in the system tray. Furthermore, in Settings > Power, there is nothing under “Devices”. I read online that indicator-power should be installed? I wanted to check here first. Thanks in advance!

It appears that it’s caused by a driver issue and also occurs in Ubuntu.
Based on the following GitHub issue thread you may be able to resolve the issue by removing modprobe.blacklist=intel_lpss_pci from the boot parameters if you have previously added it:
The boot parameter may be found in /etc/default/grub or elsewhere depending on your setup.
Perhaps the boot parameter is mentioned in a config file in one of the following directories:
/lib/modprobe.d/
/etc/modprobe.d/
/run/modprobe.d/
