If I tap to click on my Thinkpad t450s it just drags icons and links around. Also, a similar thing happens on my desktop with a mouse. If I move the slightest bit like an imperfect human being it drags icons and links around. No settings in the mouse section do anything. I tried turning off mouse acceleration but it didn't fix anything. I didn't have this issue before. However, the touchpad is unusable.
Can you please clarify this?
Is this a fresh install of Zorin OS? Or is this something that began happening after an update? Or just started happening out of the blue?
Did you check all of the tabs in the mouse settings? There should be a configuration option on the third or fourth tab that allows tap to click, three finger vs side scroll and a few other options.
