The taskbar is filled color silver / white and does not transparent,
First install it is work and transparent the taksbar
Hello and welcome to the forum. Right click on the panel and go to panel > panel preferences. Then click on appearance in the panel preferences window. In background, select style as solid color. Then click on color and select the '+' option under custom. Choose a color and at the bottom you can move the pointer to the left side to increase the transparency of the color and click on select.

What kind of damages? Can you send a picture?
Please also ensure in Window Manager Tweaks > Compositor > "Enable Display Compositing" is checked ON.
