Thanks for the memories

Sorry that's sarcasm...

I have had Zorin OS installed in a dual boot configuration on separate drives for well over a month now. I haven't booted into windows at all because I like Zorin OS so much. BUT, it has been a daily struggle. Desktop crashes. Three different ways to install apps yet they don't all give the same operational result. Desktop freezes every other day. Black screens when logging in. Headphones not working when plugged in. In fact five different playback devices which have t o be changed manually each time I plug them in. I walk away from my computer for a while and come back to a completely visible yet frozen desktop.

Enough is enough. I've tried Wayland and Xorg. I've disabled screen blanking. I've re-installed apps using different methods. The bugs just won't stop.

I keep reading about linux not playing well with Nvidia. Come on, that's been and excuse for 20 years. It's time to get it right or linux will never be anything but an enthusiasts OS. Sorry for the rant. But i want to use my computer not fix it 50% of the time. No point in continuing the rant. I just hope the devs see these types of feedback and get ONE version right before they move on to the next.
Best regards

I would recommend testing Zorin OS Lite, while it remains available.

Many of the issues you describe (Crashing, freezing, lock out on standby) are current Gnome D.E. issues.

Yes, I do realize using a different desktop is a bit of a change. Still may be better than Windows OS.
