What about this Child Safety Act that is in committee? This is an act that could shut down all Linux distros if it becomes law. It really isn't about child safety but an attempt by Microsoft to shut down Linux disguised as child safety. If passed, every OS would be legally required to display a notice on every PC using that OS confirming that the operator is 18 or above. Since Linux is not a centralized entity, It has no information on its users or infrastructure to do so. Therefore, distros not in compliance would slowly disappear or be held to be illegal. This is worrisome to me. What so others think?

That is over-dramatized Stuff. Linux Distros will not be shutdown and it is not a Microsoft Conspiracy to get rid off Linux. As @Forpli already mentined: There are already Threads about Age Verification. And the Zorin Dev's made already a Statement about it:

What you need to do is look at the first video again. Streaming providers are shifting the onus from them (to government) to parents. Let's face facts. Online streaming services should not be allowing dangerous content on their platforms in the first place. Plus they are using algorithms to get users hooked on their platforms as proven by the recent court case in the US. It's all about ensuring dissent is curbed and freethinking more so.
