The days of the week are displayed in... german

Hi all,

  • Zorin 15.3 lite, VM, english language interface, the time zone is Brussels.

The days of the week are in german rather than english.
It is the 3rd time I install ZorinOS (in the same PC/config/VM), it always did so.
No big bug, just curious to know.

Regards.

Hi, Pluviometre.
Unfortunately, I’m running Core, and not as VM. So that’s two degrees of separation, already.
But I did change my timezone to Brussels and your issue does not show up. That doesn’t answer your question but maybe someone else with Lite or Lite,VM can test on their machines and opine.

I just installed Zorin 15.3 Lite 64bit under VMWare and chose English, Belgium with Belgium keyboard, and set the location to Brussels in the installation dialogue.

Indeed, the calender shows day and month names in German:

Opened Settings -> Language Support, then selected the Regional Formats dialoge, only to find that is was set to Deutsch (Belgien):

Changing this to français (Belgique):

Needed to log-out, log-in, and voilĂ :

Not sure why the installation program chooses “Deutsch (Belgien)” as default, instead of asking.

Hi phunsoft,

thank you for the quick and detailed answer that did it.

Indeed, “Deutsch” means “German” and is one of the three official languages in Belgium.
It seems to be like that by default.
Now changed displaying fine.

Regards.
