Just a random thought, but does the Linux community know about the Konami Code? I know very well about it and thus wanted to ask the Zorin Forum.
up, up, down, down...?
...left right left right B A Start.
It has been many years since I last used that.
It's supposed to give you an advantage in certain games hence why it's a cheat code (but you probably know that).
That is about all I know.
It is a cheat code, but I do not know its history and origin, whether it is still ever used in games today, if the repeated use of it has any significant meaning or not...
The first time I used it, I was about ten years old, playing Contra.
Wikipedia has an article about it if you want to read it:
Konami Command is one of the most famous of so-called 裏技 (Urawaza) in Japanese. It originally meant glitches that were useful to players, but later came to include cheat codes as well.
I've come to memorise the Konami code simply through cultural osmosis rather than actually ever playing any games that used it.
One code I did use a fair bit was ABACABB... can anyone here name what that code was for?
