I am running Zorin OS Core on my Macbook pro 2017 with touchbar. The touchbar isn't working though. The applespi driver is recognised:
<user>@<user>-MacBookPro:~$ lsmod | grep applespi: applespi 53248 0
but the touchbar is not displaying anything as the /sys/class/backlight/ dir is empty.
I am not even sure if the information is relevant or not... Please Help!!
I'm not sure if that driver can help:
Input driver for the SPI touchpad / keyboard found in the 12" MacBook (MacBook8,1 + MacBook9,1) and 2016 through 2018 Macbook Pro's (MacBookPro13,* and 14,*); a Touch Bar driver is also available.

# Summary
Notes to install Ubuntu 22.04.4LTS (Upgraded to 24.04LTS) up and running on my 2017 MacBook Pro 15 inch (MacBookPro14,3).
Now everything except the TouchID (Fingerprint), Suspend and Hibernation seems to work for me.
About Ubuntu 24.04LTS:
I tried to install **Ubuntu 24.04** and didn't have success. There was a crash issue during installation. https://bugs.launchpad.net/subiquity/+bug/2065310
But I installed 22.04 and upgraded it to the 24.04LTS later and it working same as 22.04.4.

You didn't write which Mac Pro Model you have so I'm not sure which is the best guide for you.
Here is another one. Take a look at the touchbar chapter there:

Glad to hear! Thank you very much for giving feedback because it was difficult to search for a solution.
