I am using Zorin OS Core and need help configuring my taskbar. Whenever I open an app (like Brave Browser) and hover my mouse over the taskbar icon, it pops up a transparent preview window. This preview window displays media controls, a pause/play button, and a video playback timeline for background apps.
Hello,
Could you provide a screenshot ?
This didnt help actually
It's look like Youtube control, does it happen only with brave ?
did you try to disable all your brave extensions ?
No both chrome+brave and also many other apps
and you didn't install an app for youtube ?
yes yes
This in the Background of the Taskbar looks for me more like the actual Options from Youttube in Full-Screen Mode. Do You have in the Taskbar Settings the Autohide Option active (that the Taskbar disappears)?
Also: Did You tried to disable the Zorin Taskbar and then enable it again?
I am not getting it.Actually i am facing this a way longer like since 4 months
try this
in terminal
echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
if uou are in Wayland switch to Xorg:
- Logout
- At the login screen, click your username (don't enter password)
- Click the gear icon in the bottom right
- Select "Zorin Desktop on Xorg"
OK and you say it happen with many apps, what apps ?
This issue happens with Brave and Chrome. Whenever I watch YouTube video in full screen and then switch to another app, I see this problem with the taskbar
and you don't have any extension in brave and chrome ?
or a gnome extension (I see you have some) ?
I have many extensions in chrome+brave
the disable them all and try (in chrome and brave)
But i have an issue if i disable them my weak cpu cannot handle the video load and also some extensions are there for my personal work
I said disable, not remove ! and of course if you have video extension it could be this !
