I have a suggestion for zorin os taskbar: it would be great if tray icons could be grouped or hidden in an overflow menu, similar to how Windows handles background applications. Because when running many apps, the taskbar becomes very cluttered. Thanks! ![]()
Hi and welcome.
Have you tried this extension?
It would be helpful to have such an option. There isn't a good GNOME extension for that function at the moment.
This gnome extension offers the option to hide all tray icons but it is no more maintained and I'm not sure if it will work. If you want to test it, please disable the gnome extension Zorin AppIndicators first.
On github I found that extension
GitHub - tb5150/groupedtrayicons: Gnome extension to group background running apps into a collapsible menu similar to windows. Uses AppIndicator and KStatusNotifierItem Support by 3v1n0 as a base - Please note I am not a software developer and I am using a number of AI model to assist with building. ยท GitHub but it doesn't sound very trustworthy. I haven't tested it yet.
