I wouldn't recommend to uninstall Nautilus. The removal can damage your desktop. Just install another file manager and set it as default if you prefer other filemanagers as nemo, thunar, dolphin...

@Forpli is right do not remove nautilus or you will regret it, but you can install nemo or thunar and test what file manager you prefer
You could also take a look at Krusader dual pane file explorer, but now is only available via Synaptic Package Manager (it used to be in Software but no longer). Just to add to what others have said, if you remove Nautilus you are looking at a re-installation!
I have a brief video which looks at Krusader but not in depth. I am going to expand on it in the Unofficial Manual that is still a work in progress.
