Again use it at own risk, i dont know if your zorin installation will gets broken or not. They made it for the lts releases which zorin 16 is based on.
appreciate the help, but this is for Elan fingerprint drivers, I've tried to open goodix driver files but i didn't find this line: {.vid = 0, .pid = 0, .driver_data = 0}
Anyway, I'm trying this tutorial (without messing with the elan driver files), if it works, i'll let you know

Just the quick info that I've got the same problem on a Dell Inspiron 7400 with a 27c6:538d fingerprint sensor by Goodix.
I'm a bit confused that many of the online tutorials regarding fingerprint sensors on Linux are already deprecated although not that old (e.g. recommended packages aren't found due to the respective project not being maintained anymore).
