Even though I've configured updates to be notified immediately upon availability, I'm not actually getting any messages. I can only see them manually from the software and install them.
Do You speak about Gnome Software or the Software Installer?

Can You on the first Option set it to ''All Updates''? And have You on the Tab ''Software per Zorin'' the Source set to Main Server?

Okay, then I would suggest to observe it for a While and see how it behaves now. Besides that: The Automation of showing the Updates depends of Course from the Background Process of searching for the Updates. So, when the Timing isn't good, it might show not immediately.

I have setup my Software updater the same way as modus aka using main server and requesting notification as soon as update is available
