USB drive does not show in Disks or Gparted after install

I'm using Zorin OS 18 Pro. My external USB harddrive (NTFS) does not show in the File Manager, Disks or Gparted. It did, however, show when I was trying Zorin OS without installing it. After installing Zorin OS 18 Pro (or maybe after updating) I could no longer mount my USB harddrive. I've tried to fix it by installing the ntfs drivers (sudo apt install --reinstall ntfs-3g), since the USB drive is formatted at NTFS. I've also tried by rebooting into an older kernel (version 14). That didn't work, either.

It shouldn't be a kernel issue, in my opinion, otherwise my drive wouldn't be mounting on trying Zorin OS Pro.

I've looked into the Zorin OS community for pointers and tried the ones that looked similar (see before), but they didn't work either, unfortunately.

Can you guys give me some ideas?

Thanks!

Thank you for replying on such short notice! I feel really stupid. Apparently the USB cable was not entirely inserted into the harddrive. Well, it was, since the USB cable wasn't loose, or anything, but once I wiggled the cable a bit, all of a sudden the drive connected. :face_with_peeking_eye:
