Hi guys, just setting up Zorin on a 1TB drive, then my old Mint OS drive will become a backup drive, (its unplugged at the minute) the problem I have found ?
My video card may not have enough v-ram ?
How much v-ram do I need for Zorin ?
Is there an easy way to check using Zorin ? can't see any thing on the card and I ain't going to pull it out just in case the mother broad breaks when I replace it.
I have taken photographs to show what going hey-wire + the bios of the computer showing cpu speed, ram etc, but can't see how to put in jpegs here
To Your actual Issue:
You could run Zorin on the Bootstick in Live Mode( start the Stick, choose ''try Zorin'') and check if it works. Can You post Your Hardware Specs?
Hi, Thanks for showing me what to click on, don't know how I did not see that, any way, first screen show what this computer is, also it has a 256mb of video ram, second and third shows the messed up screen image that I get, note the 3rd one that is me right clicking on a folder, if this proves the video card is too old or small v-ram, then maybe I also have helped some one else. I have Zorin installed on a standby old disc, when I m finished testing it will be put onto a new drive
No it is not an integrated graphics card, its an old either AGP or PCI-e card, if I could find the book for it, As for XMP profile adjustment, don't know about it nor do I know how it works
I think if it is an AGP card (which I suspect it is) I would advise you take a look at the 64-bit Trinity DE from Q4OS. Here is a video I made of the 32-bit version. (The mouse pointer is small but I have found out how to make it bigger):
I'd recommend to switch to Xorg. Logout and at login click on your username then a cog wheal appears at the bottom right corner. There select Zorin Desktop on Xorg.
