I wanted to put a copy of the backup into a folder that would then be sent to my cloud storage. Am I doning something wrong here?
I think the problem is in your path. Does this folder exist? First from the file manager, create the backup folder and copy its path then paste it in the Repository Path. I haven't used Vota so can't say for sure, but give it a shot.
