Most time playing Starfield with a bunch of Creation mods inside and Skyrim Anniversary GOG with the insane Flying Mod. It's so great to have this games running more stable than with Windows 10 before.
I have been a vehicle simulator guy since my childhood. I only play ETS2, the non-Steam version, using Lutris, with quite a few mods installed, and Train Simulator Classic (on Steam). The experience is actually even more performant than on Windows!
I have tried to get Open Rails (an open-source train simulator supporting MSTS content) running on Linux earlier, to no avail.
I have, a few days ago, got Open Rails (v1.6) to work on my main Zorin OS install, and it runs quite smoothly, even with highly detailed addons.
I couldn't edit my last post (which was 16 days ago), so I had no choice but to add in the update as a reply.
Anyways, I am jubilant that my favourite game now runs on Linux!
Pretty much all of these, mostly on Proton and 17.3, but I just used the upgrader and it went pretty well and seems really stable so I'm really interested to see how good it is with my Steam collection ![]()
I'm mainly playing Minecraft (with Prism launcher), a few Steam games (like Garry's Mod, Among Us, Geometry Dash, etc) and Roblox (with Sober)
I'm playing a new game to me, its called Chernobylite, and it came out in 2021.
I'm really happy that it has full controller support, I'm playing it with my AOC controller.
Its an open world action/RPG horror game. Made by Ukrainian developers, who actually toured the exclusion zone, Pripyat, as well as Chernobyle, and took many pictures, to insure the accuracy of their game, is spot on.
I'm still in the tutorial phase of the game, with 102 minutes played. I took a screenshot, can anyone guess where that is in the game? For those who know, yes, that is the reactor 4 control room, dimly lit, in Chernobyle power plant.
I'm loving the game so far, I bought the full enhanced addition, with all the extra goodies. I'm also able to run it in Direct X 12 mode, running the game with the latest Proton GE 10-25 Flatpak.
I am a bit of an MMO gamer, so I do play a lot of FFXIV, am glad XIV Launcher has a Linux version, which adds some QoL & modding.
My last completions on Linux:
- Final Fantasy XVI
- Forspoken
- Cyberpunk 2077 (nomad ending)
- Tell Me Why
Else, I have also been playing:
- Sonic Racing Crossworlds
- Spiritfarer
- Hello Kitty Island Adventure (had to be done)
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Silent Hill f
- Where the Winds Meet
- Bravely Default 2
And all on the ROG Ally, so I am pretty impressed what has ran on it through Linux. I am downloading Horizon Forbidden West right now, which I still need to complete. I am bad for picking up games and not finishing them until years later.
I game on Linux quite a bit. Mostly using Steam + Proton and it works surprisingly well now.
Games I play:
– CS2
– Dota 2
– GTA V
– The Witcher 3
– Valheim
Waiting for:
– Mass Effect 5 (same here
)
– KOTOR Remake (hope it runs well on Proton)
– Starfield native support would be nice, but Proton will probably handle it
Linux gaming has come a long way—not perfect, but totally usable now.
