So I should just remove everything on that list in .... /etc/apt/sources.list.d ..... the very first list I posted ?????? .....
Everything in your /etc/apt/sources.list.d
needs to be replaced- but I would remove what you want gone, then only remove one repo at a time as you replace it with a jammy repo. This way, nothing gets accidentally lost.
Sounds like a plan ..... where do I find replacement repos from off Ubuntu's website ..... let remove what I don't want first and then look for the replacements ...... remember if I have to use the terminal it won't work as I can't install anything that way .....
You can use the terminal to add repos.
Once repos are all fixed, we can run the apt --fix-broken
command to fix the installers.
Did you launch Nemo from that elevated terminal?
Ooooops ...... do I just type nemo ??????
Yes,
sudo -i
Then
nemo
That will open the file manager elevated to root. Then you will have read / write access.
Well My list just got smaller by a few ...... I didn't delete Nord ..... steam or vivaldi yet because steam has all my games and saves on it and vivaldi is the browser I'm currently using so I don't want to be without internet and loose the forum and help with problems ......
The rest I have no idea if I need them or not because I don't know what they are ...... can I delete all the zorinos focal on the list now ????? .....

They are just the reposistories, not the installed software. You can safely delete those repositories without any effect at all on your running software.
Without them, you won't be able to upgrade /update those software packages, is all.
Yes. I sent you a PM with a link to the Zorin Jammy Repository Files.
Yes I already installed them there were just more of the focal than the new jammy ..... OK gonna take a break for awhile and eat lunch
I'm not sure what is going on but I can't use the terminal to delete or install anythink I deleted NordVPN in my Repository focal list and tried to reinstall it from the Nord web site but the first command would not work telling me to fix broken install ...... Plank Taskbar and it said the same thing and I don't believe that Plank is in my Repository List .....
So I went to Synaptic and as soon as I opened it up it said You Have Broken Packages ..... I went on line and found out how to use the Broken Packages Filter and it said that Cinnamon and Nemo were both broken .....
That's as far as I went because it suggested that I remove those 2 packages ......
Not sure just where to go from here with out screwing something up ......
What other desktop environments do you have installed?
I have Xfce installed and I've been working with it by trying to install a Taskbar ..... I hate the myriad of drop down menus you have to go though just to open an app ..... the main reason I was trying to install Plank ..... but again I could not get the terminal to work on there either for the same reason broken packages .....
If I deleted Cinnamon do you think it would solve my problem and could go to Xfce ...... I which it was the Lite version as I like that one ......
Also if we go the Xfce route how do I delete Cinnamon neither the terminal or Synaptic will work ..... or maybe using the broken packages in Synaptic will work ..... but I didn't try that yet .....
Here is a photo of the OS and desktops offered on Zorin 17 Pro as of now .......
Thanks I will sure give it a try when ever a get a stable desktop ......
I went to their website and reviewed the Mullvad vpn and I must say it looks promising .... price is cheaper and it is from Sweden which is a plus for me .... Nord is now $99 per year where as Mullvad is only $64.68 and they have a lot of different ISP's to choose from .....I stay in my regional area for ISP's and there are a bunch for me to chose from .....
But first I have to get the terminal straightened out so I can use it to install Mullvad .....
Thanks for the recommendation .....
After much debating with myself I have decided to just remove both Cinnamon and Nemo from my computer by way of Synaptic's Broken Package suggestions ..... and it seems to have worked as I have my terminal back and I have installed Plank on Xfce desktop which I am now using ....
I want to thank everyone for their comments and suggestions in this thread but I feel it is time to put this issue to rest .....
Maybe later on Cinnamon will be ready to install on Zorin 17 Pro but it appears for now it is not ....
I think Cinnamon is not the issue. Neither APT nor Cinnamon packages are broken. However, the sources are not changing from Focal to Jammy in /etc/sources/list/d
and this is causing package conflicts.
Any ideas on why they aren't changing ...... buy the way even with cinnamon and nemo supposedly remove I still getting the broken packages or sometimes broken install in the terminal ......
Some apts like plank went ahead and installed just fine .....
