Yes, somehow, I am not surprised that M.S. 'oopsed' this.

Microsoft's whole scheme, is to lock your OS down, provide you no choice of any kind, charges you more for it, and providing you less. Any business person would tell you that, if your investing more money, and only getting a 50% return or less, thats a bad deal.
