Do you have a list of the commands specifically you entered before all of this started happening? That might help in trying to run down exactly what has happened.
As for if they're reversible... yes, but with a lot of work depending on how much was changed on which commands lol. Given that we're running into an Ethernet, touchpad, and other issues, i'm wagering this may be a little bit of a faff.
So here is the full timeline I guess but I the sequence might be a little off
I tried installing vs code. Installed it pretty easily.
Then I tried to add graphics for c programming. This twisted my brain away too much and can't keep track of what I didn't do. Scoured the internet and after trying all and failing I gave up and went after turbo c++ as it has inbuilt graphics in it.
And oh boy, I ran so many commands by so many people in internet and finally one guy said to put TURBOC3 file in home. Then ran dosbox and 3 commands and it ran.
Then I believe I tinkered around Nvidia additional drivers and then after reboot and watching YouTube I shut down the laptop.
Watching back I think I doomed myself.
Its OK you uploaded whilst I was typing and I missed it.
I have done a websearch using"mediatek MT7921 Ubuntu 22.04" and found this: networking - ubuntu 22.04 / Mediatek mt7921e network card "No wifi adapter found" - Ask Ubuntu
Some have found a Power OFF, wait then Power ON (instead of a Restart) resulted in the WiFi adapter being recognised.
EDIT: re RTL8111 ethernet , see this: drivers - Ubuntu 22.04.3, Kernel 6.5.0-XX-generic and RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller - Ask Ubuntu
Do we understand correctly that both wifi and ethernet worked originally, but then were lost?
I am also a little concerned that you cannot find "Main Server" listed in Software & Updates. Maybe a wider issue than networking.
For the Ethernet, if you can use another computer to download, then a USB stick to transfer the software, here is a download link for Ethernet driver:
Personally, if this were me, I would take this as a learning opportunity and start from scratch again. You said just yesterday you installed Zorin, and the install process is fairly straightforward and painless. That way you could go back to being at a fresh install, using default Nvidia drivers selected at boot up as well.
Then from there, if you wanted we could go through what issues you're having step by step, because doing many things at once (as you're finding out
) is quite the way to mess things up something fierce. Everyone here is always wanting to help out newcomers, so we might even have better ways for you to do things that you may not have thought about before, either.
If you do choose to do a fresh install, I would recommend doing full updates on the first fresh boot, then another reboot. You'd be surprised how many times just making sure the updates are all done and then doing another reboot fixes things that seemingly won't work right off the bat.
Originally wifi was working and I don't know about Ethernet in zorin as I only have it for 2 days even counting today.
In windows 11 ethernet was working.
Can you send me the image of main server in software and updates? I may have missed it.
So I must follow the first link correct?
I thought about it but was hesitant cause I have to go through all that again.
Let's see I will give myself one last try then if not I will start from scratch.
Because of Your Internet:
On your Pictures is visible that You have 2 different Devices for Ethernet and Wifi. @Aravisian already linked You a Download Option for Your Ethernet.
Your Wifi Mediatek MT7921 should already be supported since Kernel 5.12 or 5.13 ...
