Wrong notifications after update to 18.1

Screenshot

Hi, since the update to 18.1 I have always wrong notifications. they appear when there is nothing new or e.g. at Evolution there is a 2 if there is just 1 new email.
In 17 it worked perfect. Any ideas?

Hi. Take a look here:

Don't think it is the same:

  1. I can see no notifications at all
  2. The Number shown isn't correct in other Programs, too as Firefox and Evolution. Thats really annoying and wasn't any problem at before the upgrade from 17. to 18.1

e.g.: Evolution just showed a 3, but had no new emails at all

Did You checked the Notifications Tab when You click on the Date/Time? When there are still Notifications saved, that could influence that.

@Ponce-De-Leon sorry, I'm confused: about which notification tab are you talking?
And which "Date/time" you mean?
You mean the Zorin's one?

as you can see it is muted. I just emptied it, still got notifications at Nautilus

That what is on Your Picture:

You can click on it and on the right Half is a Calendar and on the left a Notification Tab.

I gonna have a look at it

If the badges are wrong in several apps after the 17 -> 18.1 upgrade, I would test whether GNOME Shell is holding stale notification state. Try logging out and back in first; if it returns, temporarily disable extensions that touch the dash/panel/badges, then restart the shell session again. For Evolution specifically, also check whether there are unread messages in another folder/search view, because the badge can count unread items that are not in the currently opened inbox. If Nautilus/Firefox/Evolution all show phantom counts, it is more likely shell/extension state than three separate app bugs.

Well, it appears quite often when the systems had a lock screen.
I`ll try to log out and in again and will wrote her, but might take some days

firefox has numbers when there is stuff in the clock area

as you can see i have do not disturb on and those dont happen no more

Nothing in the system notifications on Firefox. Also no disturb but numbers...

Since it seems to show up after lock/unlock, I would also test one profile-level thing: create a temporary new user, log into that user once, and see if the badges go wrong there too. If the new user is clean, it is probably stale GNOME/Zorin Shell settings or an extension in the upgraded profile. If it happens there as well, then it is more likely an 18.1 bug. Also try toggling the taskbar/app badge setting off and on in Zorin Appearance, not only Do Not Disturb.

Thanks,I`ll try that, but will take till next week

Another weird thing I just noticed on my second computer (also just updated 17 =>18.1):
In Evolution I have 1 unread email in the mailbox, 1 in in Draft and 45 in trash.
The notification shows a 2.
Reading the 1 unread in the mailbox the notification is gone, but 1-1=1, so why is it gone?

Just noticed: The test won't work as the mistake just appears regularly appears in Evolution and Firefox and both aren't set up if just creating a new user

But I managed to switch off the notifications banner in Zorin Appearance

@quietbadger27 just send me an email to test ist: There is one unread in the mailbox, one in another folder. Evolution shows no Notification at all.
Logged in and out, no change.
I'm not aware I got extension installed that touch the badges (apart vom Gnome Tweaks), but not 100% sure. How can I find out whether there are any installed?
Thanks

You can install the Extension Manager. It is available in Gnome Software:

Well, now no notfications at all. But thats ok for me, better than wrong ones...
