Zorin 18 won't load after updates

Zorin OS, with Linux 6.17.0.19-generic won't load after applying updates. Zorin OS with Linux 6.17.0.14-generic loads successfully.

Yes. Several users have reported issues with the 6.17 kernel. Keep using 6.14 if that works OK for you.

This may be of interest if you want to use older 6.14 kernel for a while:

Then, You could go back to this Kernel. Choose on the GRUB Menu on Startup ''Advanced Options'' and start in this Kernel. To set it as Default look at @zabadabadoo's Comment for the Instructions.

I upgraded to Zorin 18.1 with the 6.17.0-20 kernel and it won't load. I get a black screen and nothing happens. It is the same as it was after update on 6.17-19. I had to use 6.17.0-14. How can I resolve the problem with the kernel ?

This sounds like the solution.

I thought Aravisian would have added this: [HOW TO] set an older kernel to default boot

That would save you the need to use grub menu item "Additional Options for Zorin" to boot older kernel every time.

I backed up my important files. I downloaded and reinstalled the Zorin 18.1 ISO, kernel 6.17.0-21. No longer have t run on an older kernel.
