Zorin Freezing in Browsers - Zen & Brave

Go to Settings>User (1):

There unlock (2) this and then disable automatic Login (3).

Then, You should have the Login Screen. On the Login Screen, click on Your Profile so that the Password Field appears. When it is appeared, You should see in the bottom right Corner a Gear Icon. Click on it and choose ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in. It should look like this:

Wayland or x11?

Did you install Zorin OS 17, or did you use the upgrade from 16? If the later, that might explain why is not the default as that wouldn't change the current session settings. Do you still see the option to use Wayland at the login screen? [sc1]
