I don't want to drift from the original post to much, but in my learning of KDE (and it is limited to a few OS) the rolling updates are the ones that have issues the most. If you don't do much with the install it works fine. My current KDE OS is wonderful has had "zero" issues and is based on ARCH (which just happens to be a rolling release). Most issues are due to user lack of knowledge when updating or attempting to tweak.

Hardware is the issue with most of ALL Linux OS issues and lack of support for vendors with driver support. We see it daily on this forum with Zorin.

Base on my experience in AntiX, be careful in installing new DE. I install different DE there that I thought will crash the system, thankfully, I manage not to. Everything done in Synaptic. When using Synaptic, read everything carefully, including the other packages installed together with the main thing to be installed: like what is it, its function, how it will affect the system etc.

Okay, I love to know more about kde plasma. I will be very happy if you can talk more about this topic.

My hardware is very old and I am facing a lot of bugs also in kde so after reading the replies by 100WCharge and Elegant_EEmperor I think that that's maybe because of my hardware. And if you are an expert in kde then in future maybe you can help me to solve that.

Btw, I don't think it all happened because of your hardware. If you follow some posts on this forum, you'll see that a lot of folks have Zorin running on much older hardware.

If I recall, this all happened to you because you were adjusting and theming your system (KDE). Nothing wrong with that, but if something goes wrong you should not blame your pc or the software.

But all aside, now you have a sort of good running system, If you are not able to repair the packages and now that you somehow know how to adjust and theme KDE on Zorin, perhaps you should go for the Lite version and add KDE on top.

Good, I don't use synaptic so I can't guide you from here. If you're not able to perform with synaptic what 337harvey suggests than I'm afraid, you are going encounter this problem every time.

To be honest, you've been struggling with your system for 2 days now. And again i want to mention that it's not the hard- or software. Please reconsider installing the Lite version. I know you have put some time in installing the apps.
But now you are sure to know which apps you want and which theme.
How fast can you reinstall.

It removes packages that have been upgraded or are now obsolete by another package. Be wary of how often you use this in conjuction with what you remove. If you remove gnome it will autoremove things that are necessary. As long as what you removed is not system dependent you will be fine. In this case you should be alright. Since you reinstalled gnome.
