Btw, I don't think it all happened because of your hardware. If you follow some posts on this forum, you'll see that a lot of folks have Zorin running on much older hardware.
If I recall, this all happened to you because you were adjusting and theming your system (KDE). Nothing wrong with that, but if something goes wrong you should not blame your pc or the software.
But all aside, now you have a sort of good running system, If you are not able to repair the packages and now that you somehow know how to adjust and theme KDE on Zorin, perhaps you should go for the Lite version and add KDE on top.
