As a last resort you could try to enter the gnome-desktop, from the login screen, using the cog wheel. If so, try the commands in that environment.
If not, yes lets wait for guru Aravisian, hahahaha.

I am currently using KDE Neon and Fedora on dual-boot
@AdarshMeher , please check your sources and please check your Server Location.
On Zorin OS, it should be set to Main Server.
I am honestly unsure how to do that with GUI on KDE because I do not use KDE and the GUI is unfamiliar to me.
Before we go any further.
In respect of external drive, first remember to plug in the power lead to your wall socket. Wait for system to boot, then connect USB cable to a USB port of your choice - remember which USB port to use as USB regardless of the OS has a memory issue - plug in to a different port and it may not get recognised.
Next create a folder on your external drive and call it whatever you want e.g., Backup of Z16 KDE home folder.
Next open your home folder and if you can't see any hidden folders or files which are indicated with a dot (e.g., .mozilla), press Ctrl+ H so they become unhidden.
Next press Ctrl+ A to select all of the folders and files in your home folder and then Ctrl+ C to copy to clipboard then go to external drive folder you created and press Ctrl+ V to paste them - you have now backed up your home folder which contains all the settings of your applications (the dot files) so if you ever did a fresh install including apps not supplied by Zorin, your settings will be kept when you override fresh install with the hidden folders.
Rescuezilla download | SourceForge.net or
Choose your /home folder to store snapshots, or alternatively, save to external drive.
Synaptic should work in KDE provided you installed it from the software centre - you can always install via the terminal:
sudo apt install synaptic
Then search for Zorin Desktop:
/home/swarfendor437/Pictures/Screenshot_20211225_193253.jpg
You want the one that says zorin-os-desktop
It is not working. It is saying that you have to first fix your broken packages.
Fix broken package option in the edit is also not working.
AdarshMeher in synaptic under custom filters will be a tab with broken in the name. Select any packages listed in the main window and mark for reinstallation. Hit the apply button and see if it gets fixed.
If not, write down the package names, mark for removal, then install them individually after removal.
Fedora KDE is not so good, I mean it is unstable, tried it 2 days ago, hence recommending not to try it.
KDE is a tweaking System with huge customizability and great looks. if you want stability Gnome Zorin is the Real deal.
KDE is also very stable, however if the hardware is not capable, then it starts showing up bugs.
I agree 100%.
I started having microphone and bluetooth problems a few days ago on my kubuntu desktop.
I don't want to drift from the original post to much, but in my learning of KDE (and it is limited to a few OS) the rolling updates are the ones that have issues the most. If you don't do much with the install it works fine. My current KDE OS is wonderful has had "zero" issues and is based on ARCH (which just happens to be a rolling release). Most issues are due to user lack of knowledge when updating or attempting to tweak.
Hardware is the issue with most of ALL Linux OS issues and lack of support for vendors with driver support. We see it daily on this forum with Zorin.
Base on my experience in AntiX, be careful in installing new DE. I install different DE there that I thought will crash the system, thankfully, I manage not to. Everything done in Synaptic. When using Synaptic, read everything carefully, including the other packages installed together with the main thing to be installed: like what is it, its function, how it will affect the system etc.
Sorry sir I can't able to respond at that time.
Thank you for your suggestions. Please wait I am trying this.
Thank you for your suggestions please wait I am going to this page.
Okay, I love to know more about kde plasma. I will be very happy if you can talk more about this topic.
My hardware is very old and I am facing a lot of bugs also in kde so after reading the replies by 100WCharge and Elegant_EEmperor I think that that's maybe because of my hardware. And if you are an expert in kde then in future maybe you can help me to solve that.
Hello AdarshMeher,
everything alright, did you manage to perform what 337harvey suggested?
Btw, I don't think it all happened because of your hardware. If you follow some posts on this forum, you'll see that a lot of folks have Zorin running on much older hardware.
If I recall, this all happened to you because you were adjusting and theming your system (KDE). Nothing wrong with that, but if something goes wrong you should not blame your pc or the software.
But all aside, now you have a sort of good running system, If you are not able to repair the packages and now that you somehow know how to adjust and theme KDE on Zorin, perhaps you should go for the Lite version and add KDE on top.
Sorry I have not done that because I have seen that now my mouse is not working properly. I have found the reason for that problem. That is happening because of the old wire. Please wait 1 minute I am giving you the result.
