Zorin only works in safe graphics

Hey everyone, I’m trying to install Zorin os on a 2011 iMac (21 inches) and when I try booting from USB it shows a black screen unless I put it on safe graphics mode, so when I install it, will it still be in safe graphics mode or will it go back to the black screen?

I don’t own a Mac, but have you used the balena etcher installer for Mac?
I submitted an article in Linux handbook in old forum.

Yes, I used balena etcher on one of my Linux computers.

Well they do an image specifically for Mac. Did you take a look at the articles I linked in my previous post?

If you do get black screen on install, you can use Aravisian’s 1st response here: [SOLVED] Black screen after install

I read that post that you linked to, very fascinating read!

In his particular case, he was using a smart monitor that had WIFI support. I think his monitor just malfunctioned like a computer, preventing normal operation. I too have a smart TV and I can tell you right now, I’ve had to do a full restart on it a couple of times now, in the couple of years that I’ve owned it.

You know what else this reminds me of? When someone brings a lawn mower in for service, and they tell me all the things they tried to get the mower running, none of them worked. I, knowing the common mistake most people make, checked the gas tank. And I chose that moment to do a little Sling Blade humor, and I said, “It aint got no gas in it.” LOL

Sometimes its the simple things we should check first, before diving deep into the pool of waters.

PS - I didn’t know about that show until swarf recommended it. Loved it all the way to the end.

Exactly!

But I do warn you however, that IT department has a few loose screws. They have also been known to watch a monitor burn on fire, and instead of calling 0118 999 881 999 119 725....3, they would email the fire department to let them know about the fire, and asking for assistance. :joy:

What operating system does it use?

Windows Vista

Turns and looks, Oh my God, were all going to die.

Hello SWARF

Let it be known that Moss was my absolute favorite character in IT Crowd. He said and did some of the most funniest things in that show. Like the moment you showed with the robot running Windows Vista.

There was also another episode where he suddenly appears at the back of the concession stand at the movie theater, to Jen’s total surprise, and somehow manages to destroy a whole pyramid of stacked glasses in the process, and he don’t even officially work there! :joy:

Forget the theory that the glass is half full or half empty, they aint gonna be either once Moss has had a go at them. :stuck_out_tongue:
