Hello!
I need help with my system... Yesterday my notebook had a random crash and I had to force shutdown. I have a Acer nitro 5 with a i7 7700hs and a gtx1050ti.
I only use Zorin OS on it.
Now, when I try to boot the system, it never pass the Acer and zorin logo screen. How can I fix it?
For the record, I had the Secure boot and Fast boot disable at the BIOS.
Welcome to the Forum!
Can You specify that? What did You before that? Was there an Update?
Did You maybe updated Your Nvidia Driver to 590? If Yes, that could be the Reason because this Driver Version cuts Support for older 10XX Graphics Cards.
Hi and welcome.
I would boot with the live media of Zorin, select 'Try Zorin' and run 'Boot Repair' and see if that fixes your boot issue.
as @Ponce-De-Leon stated that vid card i belive needs the 570 driver i have a 1650 that uses it if i try going higher it fails and generaly messes up.. try the 570 server driver its one i use with my 1650....good luck
Confirmed, OP needs 570 driver or earlier, 10-series GPU's are no longer supported. In the next few years, 20-series will be on the chopping block, this is just the way Nvidia does things. Its their insidious way to get you to buy newer GPU's.
