Q: Is Zorin OS 18 Pro suppose to come with iA Writer (Focused Writing) app? The app appears in the benefits of Zorin OS Pro on the Zorin website, but I'm unable to find it installed on 18 Pro and it does not come up when I search within the default Software installation app.
If you scroll down the page for Zorin OS Pro, you'll find iA Writer listed along side the Zorin OS Pro value proposition.

That list shows that Zorin OS Pro includes the equivalent software of that list - Not that it includes that software.
Zorin OS Pro does not include Traktor Pro nor FL Studio, either.
It includes the Open Source Versions of them.
In comparing that it includes the Open Source versions, it is showing that you are not spending that combined total cost on iA writer, Traktor, FL Studio and others.
I could be wrong... But I believe the actual app ZorinGroup is referring to as the replacement Open Source version is Xournal++

The Zorin's should really change that and instead offer there a List with the actual preinstalled Software in my Opinion.
A list with all pre-installed apps of Zorin Pro you find here when you click on the Zorin 18 Pro link (it is a zip file)
But in this Format it isn't really ... practicle in my Opinion. They should list the Software directly - and then they can compare/relate it to the Software for which it is a Replacement. For Example: LibreOffice replaces Microsoft Office. Of Course, You can make it visually more fancy.
But this Way it would show what You get and for what it is for.
@HungryPooch is, by far, not the first person to ask about this. It is asked often enough.
And, it is also asked quite often where to find a list of all the software that comes with Pro.
I find it very odd that the Zorin OS Download page does not include that list easily.
They don;t list specific software in case they have to change some of it. If they listed it, then had to replace something due to compatibility issues or some other problem, the same people complaining that they don't list it would then complain that the list is not accurate.
It wouldn't change a lot. The prices of the non-free software would change more than the choice of replacements.
But, there's only two of them (the devs). I personally think that's the least favourable aspect of this distro. It has been around for a long time, but just two people running it? It would be great if they could increase their dev pool by 50% and add just one more peep 
To change an Entry in the List wouldn't be a big Problem. They add and take out Checksums, too.
If they are looking for someone to make tea, I'm available. 
@Aravisian - I admit that my question was lazy.
I was interested in the iA Writer feature that guardrails you from sounding like a robot when using AI to enhance your thinking and writing. I don't really see any of the Zorin included software providing that functionality.
In the end though, I bought Pro to support Zorin and their mission to make Linux accessible to the masses -- not to save money on the software bundle. I uninstalled a good chunk of it anyway because I'm not a creator, but then... you never know when I might be inspired.

Apostrophe looks like a nice distraction free writer, but missing the AI integration that is the major selling point of iA Writer.
I'm not that fussed by the lack of feature parity between the two apps, but someone else might be.
Regardless, Zorin OS is a fantastic value proposition.
