Zorin RDP exits with Start menu key + C + Enter, reverts Zorin Appearance

I'm RDPing into Zorin via the Settings -> Remote Desktop -> Remote Login options. I'm RDPing in from a Windows 11 machine. I can connect via credentials in the Windows RDP application + the same credentials to log in to Zorin, and I can use it as I like, but when I'm connected, if I press the start menu key on my keyboard + C + Enter (e.g. if I want to start Calculator in Zorin) the RDP connection immediately closes with an 0x904 error. If I retry connecting, I can enter my credentials on both RDP and Zorin but it immediately closes the connection with the same error.

I have to reboot my Zorin PC to be able to RDP back in, and I can reproduce the issue on demand.

Additionally, if I RDP in, then later if I log in at the desktop itself - no RDP, just me and a keyboard - Zorin Appearance has reverted to its default post-install appearance and I have to change it back. If I don't RDP, it stays in that selection, but if I do RDP, it occurs again.

Anyone know what I should be doing to fix these?

Hi. If you have Firewalls running on both machines have you checked if RDP has been allowed?

See if anything here helps:

It's not the firewalls - I found out what's happening. If I do start + C + press enter, the first hit is Thincast Remote Desktop Client. When that launches, it kills the session.

Is this something fixable on the Zorin side or is it a bug report to Thincast?

Done a quick search and the only thing that gives you the error is RDP configuration errors, so I would look at that article I sent in my first response to you.

I did notice in my searching that the client you are using comes in Flatpak and snap which might have issues failing to start as reported by a Flatpak user on the prohect's GitHub page.
