Zorin tries to auto login using deleted user account

I have auto login enabled on my Zorin OS but have a password. I setup a temp administrator account on my Zorin 18 system so that I could encrypt my regular user account's Home folder. I logged into the temp admin account, encrypted my regular user account Home folder, and then logged back into my normal user account (which is also an admin account.) I checked that the Home folder was encrypted correctly and then deleted the temp admin account because I no longer needed it. When I rebooted my PC, Zorin is trying to auto login to the deleted temp admin account but because it no longer exists, it hangs without completing the Gnome login boot up process. I am assuming it is because all of the user info is gone. Software updater is the only thing that opens and I cannot interact with the prompt. The taskbar has nothing on it. I'm at a loss. Rebooting only causes the same thing to happen. Is there any way to force the os to login into my main user account rather than the missing account on boot? I don't want to have to reinstall Zorin but will if there is no easy fix.

I will answer my own question. Press CTL-ALT-DEL like it's Windows and Gnome brings up the logout prompt which allows you to log out of the deleted account. It's the only keystrokes what are recognized at that point. Once you logout, you can log into your regular account and all will be good.

I have marked your 2nd post as :white_check_mark:Solution.
It may help others in that strange situation.
