Zorin Upgrade on Lenovo Thinkpad

I am glad to hear that many users have had a successful upgrade from 17.3 to 18. Unfortunately this didn't happen in my case. Tried to upgrade from 17.3 to 18. Took hours but after reboot firstly Files would not launch and only did so after several stabs at the launcher. Then discovered that the keyboard was not working. Help on the internet suggested using a sudo command in terminal but couldn't do that without a keyboard and didn't have an external keyboard backup. In the end used Timeshift to go back to 17.3 and all is well again. Disappointed the upgrade didn't go well.

I suspect that the problem you encountered with Nautilus( Files) may be the same as several of us have encountered, it may or may not be the same.
But if you try to update to Zorin 18 again, I would advise you to remove folder-color before this update.

sudo apt remove folder-color

It can work, but it's not guaranteed, but since you have a timeshift you may be able to try.
Keep me informed...
