So while still fooling around with a new install here and periodic use, I tried to install GPARTED. Zorin will not allow installation giving me this message:
Unable to Install Gparted Partition Editor
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend. It is held by process 5319 (aptd)
W: Be aware that removing the lock file is not a solution and may break your system.
E: Unable to acquire the dpkg frontend lock (/var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend), is another process using it?
This message appears when you have other instances running which use the package manager, e.g. synaptic package manager, gnome software, terminal, update manager...So first close all other ones and/or wait until they are ready, then try the installation again.
The unattended updates can also cause it, I think. A few days ago when I was in live session I also get a similar message when I wanted to install an app, although I had no such programs opened. There was something mentioned with unattended updates/ upgrades, maybe such a process is active?
