I am a trial lawyer from Houston, Texas, semi-retired, spending time in my fishing camp on the Texas/Mexico border in Zapata, Texas 78076.

I have an active legal case load.

Bass fishing is my therapy.

I am not a techie, although I have more knowledge and experience than the average computer user.

I started using limited form of word processing machines in the early 1970s with an IBM Mag Card A.

I have used AIX and OS2.

Currently I am forced to use Win 10 on a Lenovo P72 17" laptop, with adequate RAM installed. It has 2 internal SSDs. I have 2 external monitors, one is 26" & the other is 43". The big guy is a LG 43UP80.

I have dual boot with Zorin 16 & all updates and Win 10.

My goal is to be free from Microsoft.

I am trying to get WordPerfect and a couple of other windows only programs installed so that I can use them when booted into Zorin 16.

The unfortunate reality is that for lawyers, and so many others, we simply must run some programs that were written for windows because an equivalent has not been written for Linux. Yes, I know there are other word processors out there, but they are not equivalents.
