I am an amateur artist in my 70s, married for 40 years and we have 2 cats. We live in the SW of the UK. I am a lifelong Windows user since Win 3.1 and decided recently to try to move over to Linux in view of the chaos over Windows 11. I bought a 2nd hand Lenovo ThinkPad to install Zorin on and it's been a struggle to get it going but for most things I am able to use it as my primary computer for now. Cannot get Nord VPN GUI to install, and Gimp continually crashes, and this laptop doesn't appear to have enough power to run DaVinci Resolve. Things have got easier since I made the decision not to try and run Windows programs on Zorin but to use open-source alternatives (with the exception of Directory Opus, my favourite file manager. Once I get things running more or less OK I am thinking of installing Zorin on my new HP ZBook which is a lot more powerful. Also hoping to get my hubby to move over to Zorin but he is less computer literate than me! So far this forum as been very helpful with my early problems.
