Hi,

I recently upgrade my CPU to i5-4570 from G3220 Pentium. but I got below result when checking for new CPU info

rama@laLiTH-RAM:~$ sudo lshw | grep core
  *-core
          configuration: cores=4 enabledcores=1
          configuration: driver=hsw_uncore

Version: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz
	Voltage: 1.0 V
	External Clock: 100 MHz
	Max Speed: 7000 MHz
	Current Speed: 3400 MHz
	Status: Populated, Enabled
	Upgrade: Other
	L1 Cache Handle: 0x0004
	L2 Cache Handle: 0x0005
	L3 Cache Handle: 0x0006
	Serial Number: Not Specified
	Asset Tag: Fill By OEM
	Part Number: Fill By OEM
	Core Count: 4
	Core Enabled: 1
	Characteristics:

can anyone tell me why it was showing only one core as enabled?

These Problems are associated with grub, Reinstalling Grub may fix the Issue.

If you search enabling all cores in ubuntu on internet you can find guides like the one I attached and even videos, hope I could help, I'm not expert enough to tell you a fix by my experience

i've gone through articles like this but they are temporary, I'm looking for a native solution like re compiling kernel or updating grub as @anon6471198 said, thanks for responding
