Allied forum for non-Zorin topic?

Active users on the forum seem to me pretty sharp and interesting to talk to, about other things than Zorin issues.

Are there online places where you do chitchat about other things?

Most of us don't do social media. There is a lounge, for those who stick around long enough, for it to unlock for users. In my years of experience however, most users are only interested in fixing their issues, not in social chatting, so the lounge goes unused. The gaming forum gets more use then the lounge does. lol

...there is? Huh. My activity level must've dropped enough to be kicked out of it. That's... kind of offensive, actually, since it actually looked on my end as if it simply ceased to exist. I'd assumed it was closed due to disuse.

The Lounge is still available. It is the Category with the grey Blib.

Yeah. It no longer exists for me. Ah well.

Well, quit messing about and get to work.
I want to see 17.762 posts per day from you for a week. And they better be good posts, too.

Seems unlikely, between general activity of the forum as a whole going up (I'm less comfortable on more active forums--I've mentioned a few times that this is the only public forum I actually use) and Zorin 18 being in no way useful to me, so I can't even try to replicate a lot issues I see without spinning up a VM--which I could, but ew, Boxes.

I'll probably continue to make myself useful on general information and application support where I can, though.

I did raise this issue for the ZorinGroup to look over, however, as you are not alone in being suddenly bumped out of an entire forum category if taking a break from the board.

Yeah. I understand that it's explicitly for active users in good standing, but being told (even if by software rather than people) that you're not part of the community anymore is... not the best way to encourage return.

I'm hoping after Aravisian made the post to the Zorin brothers, they will see that there is indeed a problem, and get it corrected. Both Aravisian & I, are in agreement about this issue, and were on your side. Lets hope the policy will get changed. :+1:

Hmm ... it seems, You need Trust Level 3:

So, where do the Zorin OS users also hang out?

The ZorinGroup expressed that they prefer the forum to stick to GnuLinux issues. They understand it cannot stick fully to only Zorin OS issues (Though I am certain that they would prefer that).

The Lounge was created as place where members can let their hair down a bit. Talk about a bit of life, careers, computing classes and courses, etc.

There are places I do talk about real world things, including current events, science and the like - that I cannot easily mention here.

Yep. I used to have it; you'll recall some conversations with me about anime and music. My activity level fell off with the release of Zorin 18.

I'm in the Lounge for Endeavour OS, by the way.

Yes, I remembered that. That's what made me wondering why it doesn't work now for You.
