Anki not opening

Anybody having problems with Anki? I can't open it, i just woke up, did nothing within my Zorin, just updated Anki app last week.

yeah anki dies quiet a lot after store installs. run it from a terminal so u get the real error:

-anki

or if Software gave u the flatpak:

-flatpak run net.ankiweb.Anki

if it yells about xcb-cursor / could not load:

-sudo apt install libxcb-cursor0

flatpak stuck:

-flatpak update
-flatpak repair

paste the terminal spam if it still wont open.

Hi and welcome.

I looked into your Application and it relies on WebKit which recently got updated across a wide range of GNU/Linux distributions because HTTP1.1 is now at version 2 and cannot use the libsoup library version used for HTTP1.1.

You need to see if the font cache solution works for you:

Welcome to the Forum!

Try this please:

"rm -rf ~/.cache/fontconfig and then fc-cache -vr"

it worked. But somehow when i apt update/upgrade, it crashes again. So i tried one more time and it worked. I don't know if it's a update thing or else. I also changed the video drive setup on preferences to "software". Thank you!

Which web browser are you using?

Brave

If you want to avoid repairing the font cache over and over try switching to a non-Chromium-based browser, like Firefox. Chromium should have its patch ready soon.

I really like firefox, the thing for me is that i use PWA a lot on Brave. I had some troubles with softwares that allows me to install websites like an app, and Brave always was very stable. But i'll give a try.

I would give zen or LibreWolf a try over Firefox; they are forks of Firefox but better.
