Apps shown even after uninstall

I am running zorin os 18 pro and uninstalled some apps from the software manger which I wouldn't be using. Even after the uninstall these apps are still being shown in the apps menu. For example freecad and libre cad has been uninstalled but the apps are still there. Any help much appreciated

Welcome to the Forum!

Maybe the Entries are not removed properly. Open ''Main Menu'' and navigate to the Entries and there You can delete them manually.

This is one of the many (!!!) bugs I saw when test-driving Zorin 18 OS. I am sorry you are running into this problem. There is one way to approach this. First, please go to the terminal and type in, "apt list --installed" and see if these programs are still installed. If they are, type in "sudo apt remove (name of app)," and enter your password when prompted (I am assuming these are APT packages, and not Flatpaks or Snaps). Say "Y" when the terminal asks you "Y/N." That will take care of it. They should not be in the menu anymore after that. To be on the safe side, type in "sudo apt autopurge" to clean any residual files left behind. Be careful, though, and watch out for any critical dependencies that may get inadvertently deleted (I doubt this will happen in your case, but watch out, still). Good luck.

EDIT: I am sorry also to see this bug still has not been resolved ... wow.

These were the apps which were auto installed in the os. I specifically did not install them. I think these were flatpaks as when I went to uninstall them in the software manager it was showing as flatpaks

I'm not sure if this old thread can help you to remove them. I can't test it because I don't have the Pro version:

Please go into the terminal and type, "flatpak list" and report back here.

already reinstalled the os and uninstalled the said packages

why are 2 brave browsers being show.

When You look in Main Menu, You will see that there are 2 Entries; I have that, too. I unmarked one.

How do u unmark it

Open Main Menu. Then look for the Entries. And then, click on the Markers so it disappears:

Thanks appreciate the help

So, it worked, yes?

I don't use Brave but wonder if it is due to being snap or flatpak following updates:
